A favorite part of the night at Sam's shower, was when we all sat close in a cozy circle. Sam opened gifts as we all shared our own tid.bit of advice on motherhood! Here's a bit of what was said that night.
LOVED it all!
EnJoy each stage! Don't wish for the next one to come too soon.
Don't compare! Each baby/child/mother is different. Do it your way, and feel good about it.
RELAX, don't stress too much.
Take pictures, videos, keep a journal...hold to the memories. You will forget stuff, but O how great to look back.
Don't worry so much about the details
Learn to improvise & make the bet of it, things won't always go as you want.
Put a smile on your face. EnJoy it. Embrace it.
Count your blessings! It's the simple things that bring the most bliss.
Ask Dad, your husband for some help. Don't feel inadequate because you need help, it's good for those big boys!
EnJoy the simplicity of one child. Take naps, long walks, baths with the lil thing.
Look nice when you go out, even if it is "just to the grocery store". It will make YOU feel good.
Love on these little people. They grow up much too fast!
Don't forget about YOU! Do things that make you happy!
Even if you are just staying home to clean...Put some make.up on and do something with your hair. Any pair of sweats or PJ's can be pulled off well, if the face & hair have been worked on.
Don't forget DAD, your husband! Give him love.appreciation.time! He is working hard and still needs you. Send him texts, notes, emails, pictures while he is at work, and don't forget to give him a kiss when he gets home (maybe not everyday, but everyday you can).
Be FUN with your kids, pull pranks, tickle them, talk a lot, understand them. Then when they are 16, they will talk to you because they have done it their whole life.
Do one on ones's. Even if it is just a quick conversation, game, trip to the store, out for a slurpee, or a extra long snuggle. You both need it.
Let other people help you. Everyone needs to learn to serve and be served.
Keep lovely things in your home. Don't fully baby proof...kids need to learn to respect a home and take care of things.
Keep your house picked up, whether a small apartment or a big house, make it look nice and give it your own little spark. You will be there a lot, so make it a happy place!
JOURNAL. Write things down. Yay for blogging!
